How to calculate your Destiny number and its meaning

The Destiny Number calculation uses simply your full birth name. It's important to remember that the interpretation of your destiny number is based on destiny from birth, and so using a nick-name, or marital name - even a shortened name - can greatly affect a reading. Bear in mind the following when calculating your Destiny number:

• Use your full name that was given to you at birth
• Remember to use your middle name if you have one - this signifies the unknown or hidden potential you have
• Omit any titles or suffixes - Mr., Mrs, Sir, Esq or other qualifications are unnecessary

How do I calculate my Destiny Number?

Calculating your Destiny number requires simply your full birth name(s). Let's take the name JENNIFER JOANNA ANISTON as an example.

We're looking to convert each separate name to a number - in this case we'll have 3 numbers to work with. In this example, will use the most popular system of conversion (though Other Numerology Systems exist). Each letter corresponds to a number one through to nine, as you'll see in the table below

Simply find each letter in the table and look up to find the number that it matches. Write down the full name, and then beneath it, the number for each letter. You'll end up with a format like this:

Step Two: Add and reduce

If you're familiar with numerological counting and reducing, you'll know what to do from here. As mentioned, we want to obtain a number for each separate name. We do this by adding the numbers for each letter in a name, then while the sum of these numbers is 2 or more digits in length (10-plus, in other words), we repeat the process and add together each digit. Let's take the name Jennifer to start with:

 

Jennifer = 1+5+5+5+9+6+5+9

=45

Reduce: 4+5

=9

 

Joanna = 1+6+1+5+5+1

=29

 Reduce: 2+9

=11

Reduce again: 1+1
